If you are a female member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints and have decided to go through the temple to take out your endowments, you may be wondering what you can expect. If you have questions about what goes on in the temple and during your endowment session, your bishop can discuss some of that with you. Before you go through, there are a few things that you may want to buy beforehand. This article will list a few of those things.
Garments
After you go through your endowment session, you will start wearing garments. Garments are a long type of underwear that you wear every day instead of normal underwear to act as a reminder of the promises and covenants that you made in the temple. In order to purchase temple garments, you'll need to have your active temple recommend and then go to a church distribution center. Once you get to the distribution center, one of the ladies can help you decide what different types of garments are going to be best for you and your body type.
Modest White Dress
Everyone in the temple wears white for a number of reasons. During your actual temple session, you will need to wear a modest white dress. Even though you can sometimes borrow a temple dress from the temple you are attending, it's nice to have your own modest white dress that you can use again every time that you go through the temple to do either initiatories or sealings. Additionally, buying a new temple dress for your endowment session will act as a special reminder of this special day every time you go through again in the future.
Journal
If you really want to remember this day and all of the promises that you made while you were in the temple, then you should consider investing in a journal. Even though you can use any journal, getting a journal that you just use for spiritual purposes and when you go the temple can make it that much more special.
