Few things are more frustrating than trying to get ready for a big event, only to stumble out of your closet looking like an amateur. A few years ago, I noticed that I wasn't getting promoted, and I wanted to know why. I started talking with a friend of mine who worked in upper management, and she told me that I dressed a lot differently than other people did. I realized that she was right, and so I started looking for ways to improve my outfits. I purchased some new clothes, got some new makeup, and started paying attention to the way I looked every day.
